RD is looking very good going forward, if you look at the indicator On Balance Volume (OBV) you can spot right away when the stock pullback BUT the OBV continue to climb aggressively via Institutional buying, so I say it has a good future and keep watching this indicator for draw down for major change of direction.

I can see after one year of sidways it finally broke out ti the upside the last two days. This OPEC agreement could be good for the oil co.

It looks like RD is ready for a 5 day mini bounce swing to $56. It will be very tight swing on energy stock as they hit lower band. Just my thinking.

Do not know which way stock price is going...uncertainty about supply/demand...

However, took a small position in A shares this morning at 53.06. Will give it a few days to see if there is a bounce after subtracting the dividend...if not, will get out of the trade.

Today RD look like it has a good bottoming process and another up day tomorrow will be a pivot up signal. The Energy sector is similar flattening out process. I hope that swing up is near.

When I click on yahoo messages for RDS, it is like a box of chocolates - I never know if I am going to get the new or old format.

I see volatility in the future. One reason is that no one really knows whether world production is increasing or declining. One reason is that storage inventory is no longer accurate (countries with large storage capabilities are not reporting and the floating storage is not accurate/not reported).

I do see a buying opportunity in the coming months (stock price below 50). I also see long term price improvement for crude oil. One reason is that the majors are spending much less capital (many projects canceled or put on hold) and, with the natural decline in production of existing wells, production by the majors will, by definition, decline in the future. A second reason relates to fracking in the US. While production from fracking has declined, it has declined much less than would have been expected. The reason for this is that a number of companies continued to drill but did not frack or produce the wells. As the existing wells decline in production (most produce well for a year or so and then decline rapidly), these non-fracked wells are fracked and put into production so that companies can maintain total production rates/remain in business. However, the inventory of these non-fracked wells is declining...thus, eventually fracked production will decline more rapidly. This coupled with the fact that many employees have been terminated and much of the need equipment has been idled/is rusting away will have a significant future impact.

Just my thoughts basis the facts that I can uncover...

    Toxicity
This Yahoo thing is becoming almost unusable. Certainly traceable and non confidential, that we know. The toxic mix of lower oil prices and a most certain not-so-good quarterly is going to be a tarsand goo difficult to escape. I've made a lot of money this year but not here. Most of that is coming from not making the attempt here, with an uncertain overhang of the dividend thing. And that's a big thing. I don't trust the authorities to make announcements at the most inopportune of times. I don't need surprises.

    Trade

With the drop in price due to x-date, I closed (bought back) my short Aug. 50 calls for the equivalent gain of 2.12/share (equivalent to a little over two dividend payments in less than two months).

I then sold Aug. 50 puts for the equivalent of 1.15/share. This assumes that share price will climb above 50 by next Friday. If not, I can roll the puts to the following month or let shares be put to me at the equivalent of 48.85.

Somebody help! A while back I thought I saw a letter from Shell that say " you don't have to file a paper for RMD after age 70 1/2 because Fidelity will do it automatically. Is that true?

I agree with this pattern, if RD breakout above $56, could easily make it to $66 or $70 next year. The ascending triangle look very strong. Keep our finger cross that it don't break down to $46 again.

RD is nearing the lower Bollinger band for support, I hope that there is bounce for the Dividend run. It could be that the current Bollinger band of 53Low and 56High. The high of $56 could could just it for this run for x-date, anything is possible, or maybe $62 is still in sight for x-date if we get good earnings report.

    Share Price

Over the next couple of weeks I think we will have an opportunity to buy below 50. The reason is that I do not think that OPEC will reach an agreement to freeze production levels. Will have to wait to to see.

If they agree to a freeze, crude will go up as will RDS share price. But, that will be a short lived spike as nothing much will actually happen to OPEC production....

Just my view. Would welcome the view of others.

Can somebody she some lights how RD as a company did not do well against Exxon and Chevron since 1998? Was it because of wrong investment, selling asset 10 cents on a dollar as I heard they did? I wondered how did it came about from there to here today. Maybe someone can who follow them good can share the story and their analysis. Just curious!

This might be a cash drawer drainer going forward. Those who are married to this are going to have problems in reconciliation. It showed no response to oil climb in last 2 weeks. Lifeless. But it certainly responds to any decrease as we know. Can't make money here recently, a spinning of wheels in the mud. The good news. Never really lost anything either.
