Group sees signs of design industry growth

May 17—HIGH POINT — A group working to make High Point a year-round destination for those in the high-end furniture and interior design business shared stories Thursday that illustrated the progress being made.

Some of the stories at the fourth annual meeting of High Point by Design were backed by hard numbers, such as 2024's second annual Vacation Design Rental Summit, a two-day event just before the spring Market that drew 158 people to Congdon Yards for a number of presentations by 37 design industry experts, said Jane Dagmi, managing director of High Point by Design, or HPxD. For one-third of the attendees, it was their first Market, and some of the presenters had sought out HPxD after hearing about 2022's first summit, she said.
